Seven capabilities, applied until the answer holds
An independent analysis practice, not a software reseller and not a drawing office. The work runs from the first feasibility question to the documentation your client signs off.
Most failures are coupled
A valve seat that leaks is a thermal, structural and flow problem at once. We size the model to the physics that actually governs, rather than running each discipline in isolation and hoping the margins stack.
Structural analysis
Whether a structure survives its worst load case, and how long it lasts under the loads it sees every day.
- Static strength and stability
- Seismic qualification
- Vibration and modal analysis
- Cyclic strength, fatigue and residual life
- Progressive deformation and non-linear material behaviour
- Buckling, shock wave impact and aircraft crash loading
- Anisotropic materials, including fibreglass structures
Fluid dynamics and thermal
What the medium does inside the equipment, how much energy it moves, and what it does to the walls over time.
- Hydraulic resistance and flow characteristics
- Heat and mass transfer, heat exchanger sizing
- Multiphase flow, separation and mixing
- Cavitation erosion, hydraulic shock and water hammer
- Sound pressure, noise and acoustics
- Gas purification and scrubbing
Multiphysics and electromagnetics
The cases where one discipline alone gives the wrong answer — which is most critical equipment.
- Coupled thermal and electromagnetic problems
- Fluid-structure interaction and aeroelasticity
- Electrochemistry and thermodynamics for fuel cells and electrolysers
- Chemical kinetics
Mechanisms and drives
Moving assemblies: what force is needed, what the parts do to each other, and how long they last.
- Power and kinematic calculation of mechanisms
- Actuators and drives for shut-off valves and pumps
- Robotic manipulators, including for remote handling
- Rotor dynamics, Campbell diagrams and bearing reactions
- Multibody analysis, articulated joints and elastic constraints
Design and documentation
Equipment with no off-the-shelf equivalent, taken from concept to a complete document set that a manufacturer can build from and an inspector can sign.
- Concept studies and detail design
- 3D models and design drawings
- Manufacturing specifications and repair specifications
- Pre-shipment and acceptance testing procedures
- Inspection standard tables: incoming inspection, operational quality control, external inspection, spare parts and tools
- Strength and hydraulic calculation reports
- Documentation to ASME and EN codes, power-industry codes and marine class rules
Materials engineering
Delivered with the Prometheus Central Research Institute of Structural Materials, for projects where the material itself is the open question.
- Materials science assessment and project support
- Selection and development of new materials for stated operating conditions
- Substitution of hard-to-source materials with available equivalents
- Documentation for production, processing and welding, adapted to your plant
- Testing and certification of materials
- Life assessment, damage protection and service-life extension
- Low-tonnage batches of metal products and welded structures
Digital twins and research
Longer-horizon work with the Blagonravov Institute of Mechanical Engineering, aimed at the quality and safety of high-risk equipment.
- Mathematical modelling of complex processes
- Digital twin development for operating equipment
- Method development where no established procedure exists
- Training of client analysis teams on the resulting methods — three companies trained to date
What a result looks like
A stress raiser is the whole job in miniature: a cut-out in a loaded plate carries roughly three times the stress of the plate around it, and where exactly that peak sits, how far it reaches and whether it matters are questions only a converged model answers. Every report we issue states the mesh, the load case and the margin, not just the colour map.
What you receive
Every engagement ends in documents, not screenshots.
| Deliverable | Contents |
|---|---|
| Calculation report | Model, assumptions, loads, results and margins against the governing code |
| Verified model | The analysis model, with mesh, solver settings and convergence stated |
| Design documentation | 3D models, drawings, manufacturing and repair specifications |
| Acceptance package | Test procedures and inspection tables for incoming, operational and external control |
| Methodology and training | The procedure written up, and your engineers trained on it |
Not sure which of these your problem needs?
Describe the equipment and the failure you are worried about. We will say what has to be calculated, and what does not.
